My Tattoo Faded

You didn’t put the time, money and pain into getting your tattoo just to see it fade or look less than amazing. Good news—with the right care and protection, your ink can heal right and look great for years to come.

A COMMON MISCONCEPTION

Many individuals with fresh tattoos are often faced with “faded” color shortly after getting inked. And although most are likely informed of the basic do’s and don’ts of tattoo care, we find many don’t realize that once the scabs fall off, the skin underneath is not fully healed. In fact, tattoos in this stage of the healing process typically need one to three more days to fully heal, and it’s this “not quite healed” skin that can make the tattoo look faded

We’ll explain.

When your scabs come off, they reveal a layer of dead skin. Just like when you get sunburned and your skin peels, you get that whitish, faded out, hazy look over your new tattoo. That skin will then peel back showing your tattoo’s true colors.

Once that happens you would assume your tattoo has finished healing, right? Not quite. The top may be healed but underneath is not. A tattoo is basically a scar with ink in it. And those scars can take up to a year to heal, so even though your tattoo is healed to the touch it is still healing below.

GET THE RIGHT INGREDIENTS: VITAMIN E AND LAVENDER

Two ingredients that are very good for your new tattoo after it has finished healing are Vitamin E and Lavender Oil. Vitamin E is an antioxidant. Its action is enhanced by ascorbic acid and selenium. It protects polyunsaturated fats in the body from oxidation, maintains the integrity of Vitamin A in the body and promotes normal clotting of blood. Its levels in the body are dependent on proper levels of zinc.

VITAMIN E:

  • Promotes normal growth and development
  • Prevents free radical damage in body
  • Acts as anti-blood clotting agent
  • Protects tissues against oxidation
  • Promotes normal red blood cell formation
  • Improves stamina
  • Heals burns and wounds
  • Diminishes liver spots
  • Decreases scarring
  • Helps heal acne

LAVENDER OIL:

  • Is an antiseptic
  • Controls the production of sebum
  • Stimulates circulation in the skin
  • Assists in the healing of wounds
  • Aids in the formation of scar tissue
  • Helps to rejuvenate the skin
  • Is used to treat acne, bruises, cuts, burns, sunburn, inflammation (even though it is not really anti-inflammatory), psoriasis, sores and wrinkles

You can find these ingredients in Tattoo Goo® Lotion. Now you can be dedicated and take care of your inkvestment and your tattoo will look great for years to come.
